This is a great opportunity to work in this pivotal role within the People Team at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. As the People Manager for Temporary Staffing Lead, you will be part of the Senior Management People Team which will require you to contribute to and manage specific projects related to Temporary Staffing (inc. working in collaboration with NHS Professionals (NHSP) and People Team colleagues on delivering the new contract, implementing Patchwork and Doctors Direct) and Recruitment Agencies to support the People, Workforce and OD strategies.

Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate, you will be expected to provide expert, specialist advice across a range of areas, drawing upon your deep knowledge and experience. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong, effective communication and collaborative relationships with colleagues within the People Team, clinicians, and other staff members, ensuring that all parties work together seamlessly to achieve the best possible outcomes. In addition, you will engage with a diverse range of professionals both within the NHS and in external organisations, building networks of support and expertise.
Your role will involve managing complex, challenging, and at times, highly emotive issues, requiring a high level of empathy, professionalism, and diplomacy. You will be expected to demonstrate resilience and sensitivity when dealing with difficult situations, ensuring that all stakeholders feel supported and valued. At all times, you will act as a representative of the Trust, promoting a positive and professional image, upholding its values and standards, and reinforcing its commitment to providing the highest quality of care.
Job responsibilities
Educated to Masters level in a relevant discipline or have extensive and developed specialist knowledge and skills to an equivalent standard. Previous experience of end-to-end Business As Usual temporary staff desirable, however the successful candidate must be able to use transferable skills in this area. Demonstrable project management skills. Qualified in Job Evaluation processes. Track record of demonstrating innovative solutions to temporary staffing. Experience of partnership working. Team management skills. Well-developed communication skills (both verbal and written). Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Proficient in the use of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint. Advanced IT and keyboard skills. Possess resilience to deal with any distressing and emotional demands of the role. Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010). Eligible to live and work in the UK.
