Job Title Area Sales Manager Location: Field based Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: £29,520 What we do Compton Care provides high quality, accessible care and support for the people in our communities living with life limiting conditions across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire. The charity’s annual running costs are £16 million, with 70% funded through our stores, fundraising, and donations from amazing supporters. What will you do? You will be responsible for driving revenue and profitability in our stores. Reporting directly to the Trading Sales Manager, working closely with the senior trading team. An Area Sales Manager holds overall responsibility for the Store managers, Assistant managers, Bank Managers and our team of Volunteers to raise more money. You will be an ambassador for Compton, a role model in customer service and you will be committed to promoting a culture where your staff feel empowered and accountable for the service they provide, whilst ensuring team and individual objectives are met or exceeded. You will be able to effectively coach, manage and motivate your team to reach their full potential and uphold our organisational values. You will deliver operational excellence. You will spend 75% of your time on day-to-day activity and 25% of your time on long term projects and planning. What we want you to bring. We are looking for a talented, motivational, confident, and commercially savvy individual with a proven track record of driving retail sales and profit. You will be passionate about retail, a people person, have a pro-active ‘can-do’ attitude and comfortable to work alongside retail teams and volunteers to drive retail income. You are not afraid to suggest new and/or better ways of working which are supported by clear evidence. You’ll be fluent in articulating these ideas in a positive and supportive way, achieving buy-in at all levels through effective leadership. What you’ll need to be successful Ability to work within a team and to be able to create good working relationships. Proven experience in managing employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit. Excellent leadership skills and able to empower others Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise. Be Confident, Motivational and Inspiring. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
