Overview
Social Security Scotland, an executive agency of the Scottish Government, is undertaking the largest and most complex IT and digital change programme since devolution. With a lifetime budget of over £300m, we are delivering a social security system that will support Scotland for decades to come.
This role sits within the Chief Digital Office’s (CDO) Software Engineering team, which builds and maintains software services for Social Security Scotland. This includes an enterprise case management system and a range of supporting technical services, used by Clients to submit benefit applications and our internal teams to manage benefit payments.
Our technical staff are largely deployed in Agile teams focussing on new benefits development, live service support and continuous improvement.
We believe in supporting our team members' growth and development through their work – the successful candidate will have access to formal training courses and team learning projects to enhance their technical and non-technical skills.

Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review.
