Welcome to Carpenter Box, one of the largest independent firms in the South East. We have a headcount of over 250 staff across our offices in Worthing, Crawley, Brighton, Chichester, Portsmouth and London. We’re always looking for motivated and excited people who share our values to help us serve our expanding client base and grow our exceptional practice.
The Role:
Carpenter Box is seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Manager to join our dynamic StarBox team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual committed to delivering outstanding service to our growing client base, which includes high-profile clients in media, entertainment, and sport. As a Senior Tax Manager at StarBox, you’ll work closely with our experienced tax advisors and liaise directly with clients to provide valuable guidance on complex tax matters.
You may already be in a dedicated tax role or have a general practice accounting and tax background. If you’re CTA qualified, that’s fantastic; if not, we welcome ATT or ACA/ACCA qualified candidates who are eager to study towards CTA. We provide comprehensive training and support to help you on your professional journey.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Advising on corporate reconstructions, remuneration and succession planning, and investor reliefs (EIS/SEIS)
2. Providing international tax planning for individuals and dual-resident corporations
3. Offering advice on research & development tax reliefs, IHT planning, and CGT mitigation for high-net-worth individuals
4. Communicating with clients, providing ongoing support, and managing junior staff
5. Supporting Directors and Partners within the tax team and contributing to team activities as needed
The Person:
We are looking for a candidate with a strong tax background, who possesses excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. CTA qualification, or ATT/ACA/ACCA qualified with a willingness to study towards CTA
2. Experience in tax advisory, particularly in corporate reconstructions, remuneration planning, and investor reliefs (EIS/SEIS)
3. Strong communication skills and experience managing client relationships
4. Ability to mentor junior staff and support team development
5. A proactive, dynamic approach with excellent organisational skills
At Carpenter Box, we recognise the positive value of diversity and promote equality. We aim at all times to recruit the person who is most suited to the job and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, race, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, or gender, particularly those underrepresented throughout the finance and accounting industry.
Although this role is advertised as full time, we believe that flexibility at work can provide many significant benefits both to our colleagues and the business. We already work in a hybrid style across all offices and can support different ways of working. If you are interested and have any requirements or needs in the way you would like to work, please apply, and speak to us about this. We will consider flexible options for applicants.
