An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Production Unit based at Queen’s Hospital Romford. The Pharmacy Production Unit is a large, licenced, commercial unit providing aseptic products to the Trust and external partners.
The post holder will work closely with the Principal Pharmacist, Production to provide an efficient, cost-effective, customer oriented service to the Pharmacy Production and Radiopharmacy Units. They will also be required to provide specialist advice on oncology/nutrition/CIVAS products and services along with a clinical pharmacy service to an acute adult ward.
You must be an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist who enjoys working as part of a team and have exceptional organizational skills. You must be hard working, accurate and have hospital pharmacy production experience, including experience in clinical pharmacy.
You must be an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills. You will need to be forward thinking and enthusiastic, with a commitment to continuing professional development.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist technical pharmacy, radiopharmacy and clinical pharmacy services within the Trust in order to improve the quality of patient care. To develop, in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist Production, an efficient, cost effective and customer orientated pharmacy production and radiopharmacy unit.
Person specification
Education/ Qualifications
* MPharm (post 2001) or BPharm (pre 2001)
* Formal management training
Experience/ Knowledge
* Recent experience of providing a clinical pharmacy service to adult in-patients in the acute hospital setting.
* Substantial experience of GMP Experience of clinical oncology/adult nutrition services.
* Experience of radiopharmacy.
* Experience of supervising/mentoring staff.
