A rare opportunity has arisen to work for a not for profit veterinary practice whose ethos is no pet goes untreated meaning their priority is always the health and care of the animals they see. The practice is located in the industrial town of Blackburn in Lancashire.
Our client is looking for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their practice on a full time basis. Your role will be pivotal to the day-to-day running of the practice, assuming line management of the vets and to nurture/develop them in their roles. As lead vet you will also drive forward the clinical governance agenda in line with the RCVS practice standards. Lead vets have one day of protected admin time per week to focus on your management/administration duties.
The practice is modern and well facilitated offering up-to-date technology including x-ray and den-tal x-ray services, ultrasound with heart scan probe, a full range of IDEXX in-house lab machines, dentistry, orthopaedic surgery and much more.
You will be joining an 8 vet team with a wide range of experience between them including 1 vet who is currently working towards their certificate in orthopaedic surgery. There is also a team of 7 highly qualified veterinary nurses, 2 student nurses and an animal nursing assistant.
The successful candidate will need to be an experienced veterinary surgeon who is a qualified MRCVS. You will need be a good team leader and have excellent communication skills. You will be joining a collaborative culture where your opinions will be valued and your voice heard.
The Rota:
• Full time - 40 hour week
• 4 day week
• Saturday rota basis (usually 1:5 or 1:6)
• Bank holiday rota at a hospital in Bolton
• No OOH
