Description Wood Process and Energy is recruiting a Process Engineer to support our process engineering team in the Glasgow office for staff roles. Hybrid Working - working from home and some days a week expected in our Glasgow office. You will join the process engineering team on project teams and will be involved in the process design across a range of Wood's current projects at all stages of the design process. The team will be servicing a range of different industries including traditional Petrochemical, Refining, Gas and Chemicals projects, but also working in the power sector and emerging technologies, such as Hydrogen and CCS, in the energy transition market Responsibilities We are looking for engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance on projects across the full life cycle, from studies and FEED to EPC, to ensure that Wood continues to differentiate itself from its competitors by delivering quality projects to our client’s requirements. Applicants with technical skills and experience in these markets are welcome. Duties and Responsibilities Complete sizing calculations including compressible and incompressible hydraulics, vessels, tanks, pumps, control valves, and instrumentation. Ensure that calculations and deliverables satisfy all operational and safety requirements Prepare process deliverables: Process Flow Diagrams, Mass and Energy Balances, Equipment specifications, P&IDs, Line lists, Tie-in Lists Prepare, and take responsibility for the accuracy of calculations, process engineering datasheets, and drawings. Execute assigned tasks within the assigned budgets and timeframes Identify technical risks and gaps when completing tasks and agree and develop mitigations with the Lead Engineer Demonstrate an appreciation of project execution and how assigned tasks will impact process design delivery. Take ownership of follow-on work from assigned activities Demonstrate understanding of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements, and consider these requirements when completing tasks Communicate effectively within a multi-discipline design team to complete assigned tasks Participate in technical meetings with a multi-discipline team to complete tasks Complete continuous improvement and professional development to meet the requirements of assigned tasks or understand new technology Join a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients. Who we are looking for: Degree in Chemical Engineering Minimum of 2 years Industrial experience since graduation Proven core Process Engineering skills, including design or operational experience A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills and good organisational awareness Demonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives Display analytical and innovation skills to manage new technology Desirable: Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status Experience of concept, PreFEED, FEED or EPC in a design office environment Experience in greenfield & brownfield projects
