We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Ganger to join our dynamic Area 12 team at Birdwell Highway Maintenance Depot just off M1 J36. The standard hours of work are 45 hours per week, rotating days/nights and typically 1 week of days then, 1 week of nights. Day shifts are 8hrs, night shifts are 10hrs. What You’ll Do: • Maintain high technical standards and solutions • Attend project briefings as required • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation throughout team at all times and ensure works are carried out as per relevant VRS specification • Manage and mentor apprentices and operatives and coordinate the work of others as necessary • To be responsible for the security of vehicles/plant and materials under their direct control and to plan work and estimate vehicle/plant and material requirements. • This role will specialise in Vehicle Restraint Systems but experience with drainage, kerbing, fencing, walling, sweeping, signing, patching, traffic management, soft estates work will be an advantage • To drive/operate vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills including vehicle checks, routine maintenance, (e.g. oil and water checks etc.) and cleaning. • To keep records, complete all necessary paperwork, communicate and liaise with other employees of Amey, sub-contractors, the emergency services, the police, the general public, clients and customers. • Report any Health and Safety, team or performance concerns to the Supervisor. • Stand in for Supervision as and when required Why Join Us?
