We have over 280 wonderful children and young people enrolled who are aged 4 to 19 years old. This is an exciting time to join our school as we continue to develop and expand, with an ever-evolving curriculum and fantastic facilities including a swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sensory studios, Café and soft-play rooms. Reporting to an Assistant Head Teacher, the Café Manager (Teaching Assistant Level 3) will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring it is fully stocked, legally and operationally compliant and open to the public for a minimum of 3 days each week during term time. The post will also work alongside, supervise and train work experience students and students working towards internal accreditation for Front of House and Barista Skills, using the café as a valuable learning resource. The Cafe Manager must have flexibility with hours/ working times in order to meet the needs of the cafe and school, and ensure it is open at times directed by the leadership team. We are looking for someone that has experience in supporting children and young people with special educational needs, who is able to supervise and train work experience and students on accredited learning, but who also has experience of working in or running a café, particularly cash handling/till reconciliation, health and safety, food hygiene (including allergies), stock control and PR/marketing. There is a possibility of occasional evening or weekend working to open the café for special events (e.g. parents evening, external bookings or school fairs). You will be required to produce right to work ID and relevant certificates, demonstrating your qualifications, on the day of interview if you are shortlisted.
