Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Design Consultant to lead ICT Infrastructure fit-out projects, focusing on design, technical compliance, and client engagement. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects aligned with industry standards and the RIBA project framework. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills, with the ability to manage complex designs and collaborate across multiple disciplines.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in building and fit-out projects, who can identify and resolve project challenges efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop designs, reports, specifications, budgets, and equipment schedules in accordance with RIBA stages.
* Own and manage the design process throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure all designs meet industry, technical, regional, and regulatory standards.
* Present designs during presales stages, tender interviews, and to clients or design teams.
* Manage commissioning, witness testing, snagging, and reporting activities.
* Prepare design documentation and technical specifications.
* Collaborate with the production team for technical drawings, schematics, and design details.
* Work on projects across the EMEA region, providing remote support and travelling to sites as needed.
* Liaise with clients, partners, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
* In-depth knowledge of Low Voltage Systems and associated standards, including copper and fibre media, high-speed connectivity (10GB/40GB/100GB), IT equipment room design, containment, and cabinetry.
* Familiarity with telecoms services and cable testing standards.
* Understanding of Local and Wide Area Networks, wireless networks, AV systems, and security systems, particularly in their interface with low-voltage designs.
* Proven experience coordinating low-voltage systems with MEP and architectural disciplines across RIBA or international project stages.
* Relevant industry design qualifications (e.g., BICSI RCDD).
* Strong experience in managing design drawings, documentation, and specifications, with familiarity in AutoCAD and Revit.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting floor plans, technical drawings, and specifications.
* Knowledge of IT equipment rooms and/or data center design and construction.
* Experience in delivering and handing over infrastructure projects.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills, with an ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Software Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Familiarity with design and documentation tools like Visio, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
* AutoCAD skills are an advantage but not essential.
