Job Summary
The Corporate Plans and Reporting Team sit within the DGCS and are responsible for delivering a wide portfolio of work on behalf of the Chief Executive and Director of Strategy & Plans, ensuring that the DIO is responding to the priorities of the CE and Executive Committee, beside wider Government and Departmental priorities.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
* Manage the implementation of leadership and engagement initiatives within the team.
* Promote a collaborative working environment, developing strong working relationships within the team, across DIO and MOD.
* Support wider Corporate Planning initiatives.
* Manage the Business Plan, monitoring and reporting progress against it, ensuring risks and issues are identified and raised appropriately.
* Support the development of a communications/engagement plan for Business Plan activities.
* Manage the response to the Quarterly Performance Report against the Defence Plan and Business Plan into MOD Head Office; and the response to targets in the Single Departmental Plan, to ensure Defence and wider Government has a clear understanding of DIO performance.
* Manage the collating of data and reporting of the CDS report, engaging with CE’s office to gather feedback. Monitoring the effectiveness of the report and adapting as required.
* Plan for the necessary review and approvals of the performance reports and monitor progress of reporting into the Single Reporting Tool to ensure submission deadlines are met, ensuring the collation of input is captured in the most effective and efficient manner.
* Manage the development and enhancement of quarterly DIO Business Plan Performance Measurements to ensure the DIO Executive Committee and DIO Board have an appropriate means of measuring performance across the organisation.
* Oversee the necessary review and approvals of the performance reports and monitor progress of reporting to ensure submission deadlines are met, ensuring the collation of input is captured in the most effective and efficient manner.
* Plan for and coordinate the required DIO input for the Performance and Risk Review sessions.
* Monitor and review external corporate reporting processes.
Person Specification
* Working knowledge of the Defence political and policy context.
* Understanding of how infrastructure underpins military capability.
* Experience of leading and shaping work with others from different professional backgrounds to achieve organisation priorities.
* Ability to articulate complex issues clearly and succinctly.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
