Security Clearance: SC clearance required/must be able to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance.
About the role
We're looking for a RCA Quality Engineer to take the lead in driving critical defect investigations and resolutions within the MMCM programme. This is a key role where you'll ensure safety, legal compliance, and performance excellence across our hardware systems.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Lead RCA Processes: Oversee and manage root cause analysis for hardware defects using the 4D/8D methodology to ensure efficient issue identification and resolution.
2. Defect Escalation: Participate in weekly meetings to identify and track defects, determining which issues require RCA engagement.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure RCA actions align with safety, legal, and operational needs.
4. Budget Management: Collaborate with the Program Manager to allocate budgets for RCA activities.
5. Reporting & Tracking: Ensure RCA activities are fully documented, communicated, and completed on time.
You will have the following experience:
1. Strong experience managing RCA processes using 4D/8D methodologies in a hardware-focused environment.
2. Proven background in hardware engineering, with hands-on experience in defect investigation and corrective actions.
3. A methodical approach to solving complex, technical challenges with the ability to work under pressure.
4. Ability to lead cross-functional teams, engage with stakeholders, and drive projects to completion.
5. Experience working in safety-critical or highly regulated environments, ensuring smooth communication and decision-making.
