Shift Team Leader
Salary Circa £55,000 - £64,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours Shift Rota: Monday to Sunday, shift pattern of 12-hour shifts. Averages yearly at 40 hours per week.

As a Shift Team Leader, you will drive best practices in company policies and procedures, foster strong industrial relations, and ensure full legislative compliance within an open and empowered workplace culture. You will also take ownership of the plants daily safety and environmental performance, ensuring operational excellence.
This vacancy is full-time, 40 hours per week working on a shift rota, Monday to Sunday. This will be on a shift pattern of 12-hour shifts as advised by the Operations Manager to align with the operations of the EfW. The shift pattern will have rostered holidays included in the shift pattern. You will be entitled to a paid break of 1 hour per shift.

What will you be doing?
- Maximising plant availability and proactively improving reliability.
- Implementing company health, safety, and environmental management policies.
- Participating in the HSE forum and driving company/site HSE initiatives, including regular procedure reviews.
- Monitoring plant performance and taking proactive steps to address any shortfalls.
- Enhancing plant efficiencies and developing engineering solutions.
What are we looking for?
- Knowledge of turbines, generators, and rotating machinery monitoring techniques.
- Understanding of Safe Systems of Work and the role of the HSE enforcement agency.
- Familiarity with environmental abatement requirements in Waste to Energy plants and SEPA regulations.
- Minimum HND in Engineering with strong operational/maintenance experience (lower qualifications may be considered with relevant experience).
- Strong grasp of HSE principlesNEBOSH or IOSH qualifications preferredand practical knowledge of thermal plant operations.
- Experience in professional and structured management, collaborating with operational teams to meet performance, service, and development goals.
- ONC, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 or higher in Engineering with substantial operational/maintenance expertise.
