My client is a mechanical & electrical contractor who specialize in retail fit out and construction projects across the UK. They are located near Wakefield and have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track projects across the sector for some leading retail clients. They are passionate about delivering exceptional projects and are currently recruiting for a new Building Services Manager due to the expansion of this division. This role would suit someone with previous experience as Building Services Manager with experience of the retail and M&E sectors. Working alongside an existing Building Services Manager and reporting to the Divisional Director the role will encompass a variety of tasks supporting the whole business in ensuring that work is completed in accordance with the companies’ key accountabilities detailed below and in line with our clients’ expectations and strict programme timelines. Key Accountabilities: Comply with statutory and company health and safety requirements and contribute to the maintenance of a clean, safe, and orderly site. Represent the company when dealing with clients (and/or their agents) and sub-contractors. Liaise, co-operate and co-ordinate with site teams to ensure the timely completion of the project. Review the M&E Services information and comment on such items as: Build-ability Compliance with statutory regulations, British standards, CIBSE standards etc. Cost & Programme Procurement of plant and equipment. Ensure the timely provision, from the subcontractor(s), of contracted items such as: Construction drawings and technical submissions Procurement and commissioning programmes RFI schedules O&M manuals, logbooks, and record drawings Inspect, monitor, control and report on the quality and progress of the works to ensure that they comply with the drawings, specifications, contract documents, accepted codes of practice, statutory regulations, British Standards or otherwise. Liaise and co-ordinate with statutory service authorities if applicable. Liaise with Building Control Officer and Fire Officer. Arrange building control officer and fire officer witnessing and issue meeting minutes based on the companies template. Requirements: Extensive mechanical and electrical experience Main contractor experience preferably in the retail and commercial sectors Personality is key to the position so you must be outgoing and an excellent communicator
