Arbour Academy is a Pupil Health Referral Unit based in Eccles, working with young people with a range of SEMH needs. We have a very strong record of success with our pupils and maintain high levels of support for them and their family network.
Job overview
Arbour Academy have an exciting opportunity for a Cover Supervisor/Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the school as soon as possible.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring individual who will provide cover lessons, education and pastoral activities for groups of students in the absence of their usual teacher.
The successful applicant will be required to supervise work that has been set in accordance with school policies to groups of students with SEMH needs. An active interest or experience in Sport/Arts/Leisure would be highly desirable.
Applicants should have high expectations for all students and be committed to developing their full potential. Previous experience in working with pupils with Autism and sensory need is desirable.
It is expected that applicants will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possess good literacy and numeracy in order to support learning, have the ability to promote independence and confidence and be an excellent role model to all.
You must have a caring, positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team, and able to use your own initiative and to work without supervision.
Applicants must have the ability to work flexible hours as appropriate.
