Job Title: Contract Project Planner Location: Inverness, UK Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Contract Industry: Energy / Utilities Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project Planner with strong proficiency in Primavera P6 to join our team on a contract basis in Inverness. The ideal candidate will have experience working within highly structured project environments, ideally with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) or similar utility companies, where adherence to prescribed programme frameworks is critical. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with client and stakeholder requirements. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables. Ensure compliance with SSE’s structured planning methodologies, incorporating best practices for programme management. Identify potential scheduling risks and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Analyse project progress, prepare reports, and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making. Support resource planning, cost forecasting, and timeline adjustments as required. Facilitate communication between project teams, ensuring clarity on deadlines and deliverables. Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Project Planner in a relevant industry, such as energy, utilities, or infrastructure. Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential. Experience working on projects with SSE or within a similar regulated framework is highly desirable. Strong understanding of structured project management methodologies and programme governance. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Contract Details: Duration: 12 months initially Location: Inverness (hybrid/remote options may be considered). Rate: Competitive, based on experience.
