The overall purpose of the Senior Microbiological Technologist role is to provide in depth technical expertise and direct support to the Microbiology Team Manager/Technical Expert for the provision of the team resource scheduling, managing investigations, project and audit support, coaching, mentoring and training team members.
In this role you will…
* Be responsible for scheduling of work within the team. Use OE tools to plan workload and maintain schedule. Agree prioritisation of work with Team Manager (TM) and colleagues.
* Create documentation, methods, procedures, protocols and reports to agreed targets.
* Manage and document investigations with minimum input from Team Manager. Demonstrate use of problem-solving tools. Ensure appropriate CAPA is in place.
* Represent Microbiology by liaising efficiently and effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Logistics and Project Teams as required.
* Demonstrate clear, reliable and timely decision-making skills. Provide general support and deputise for Team Manager.
* Support audit readiness and represent the site in areas of technical expertise in internal/external audits.
* Undertake training of staff to achieve high standards, provide ongoing coaching and mentoring in areas of technical expertise.

* BSc Microbiology or related degree.
* Track record of coaching and mentoring others in technical areas.
* Expert knowledge in at least three areas of Pharmaceutical Microbiology i.e. Microbiology Validation, Laboratory Testing Methods, Process Microbiology.
* Track record of completing deviation and laboratory investigations.
* Quality report writing.
* Planning capability.
