SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Brighton Area)
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN TA to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Brighton area.
About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a school committed to ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
3. Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
4. Promote a positive and supportive learning environment
5. Manage behaviour effectively, following school policies and SEN best practices
6. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure student progress
What We’re Looking For:
1. Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting
2. A strong understanding of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
3. Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
4. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young people
5. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training) are desirable
