On 1 April 2019 Cwm Taf University Health Board changed its name to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as it took responsibility for providing healthcare services for the people in the Bridgend County Borough area. Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB now provides primary, community, hospital, and mental health services to the 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs – Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The opportunity has arisen to employ a Bank Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to work with children and families to deliver a range of community-based initiatives; utilising a range of agreed approaches to support positive changes to food, nutrition, and physical activity behaviours.
They will support the local delivery and evaluation of Nutrition Skills for LifeTM services.

The Bank Worker will receive a range of training opportunities and work alongside fellow Dietetic Assistant Practitioners in Public Health Dietetics, under the guidance of the Senior Public Health Dietitians. They will receive weekly supervision sessions with a registered dietitian and will work closely with a range of partner agencies to promote positive healthy lifestyle behaviours.
All bank workers will work relatively independently, working to an agreed framework with a degree of autonomy and will be responsible and accountable for these tasks. This will involve having their own caseload and working co-productively with a range of partners and organisations in a complex community environment.
The role will be based in the uniquely built Keir Hardie University Health Park as well as out in the community and set up to work from home as appropriate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through a combination of credited training, short courses and experience. Knowledge of public health nutritional messages and current services.
Experience

* Previous experience of working in NHS, social care or community setting. Experience of team working. Experience dealing with telephone enquiries. Experience of using Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook packages and experience of data inputting. Experience working with groups.
