Job Description:
We are currently recruiting a Transport Manager for our site in Perth to effectively manage the staff and functions of the Transport Department in a way that satisfies both Customer and Company, fulfills the Customer Commitment and achieves targets.
Key Tasks
1. To ensure that all commercial vehicles are maintained and serviced in accordance with FTA regulations, current legislation, and to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
2. To ensure that the Route man’s message pad procedure is operated and maintained to customer service satisfaction levels.
3. To actively encourage Route man to enter into the spirit of all campaigns to achieve added value service sales.
4. To ensure each day’s items are loaded/unloaded from the vehicles and delivered and returned to customers according to the agreement.
5. To ensure that the requirements of the Operator’s Licence are adhered to at all times.
6. To establish and maintain good customer relations and act as liaison between Customer and Company.
7. To fully utilise the AS400 computer system, as appropriate.
8. To recruit drivers in consultation with the General Manager.
9. To provide ongoing training for all drivers from the start of service and throughout their employment and regularly review their training and development.
10. To forward queries to the relevant department, and ensure managers, supervisors and colleagues are informed as necessary.
11. To keep all costs to or below budget.
12. To maintain accurate records where required.
13. To wear and use Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks.
14. To carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
15. To comply with Company Policies and the Terms and Conditions of Employment and follow company procedures.
16. To keep work area clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times.
17. To attend training courses as required.
18. To foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company.
19. To maintain confidentiality of Company business.
20. Other ad hoc duties as required.
