About the role:
Moulsham High School is a larger than average 11-18 comprehensive school where all students consistently achieve highly. Overall progress and attainment have been well above Essex and national averages for the last 8 years. In 2024 our outcomes placed us in the top 9% of all schools nationally. ‘The mutual respect shown between pupils and staff ensures that learning takes place in a cordial environment. Classrooms are welcoming places’ (Ofsted 2024).
We are looking for an outstanding specialist to teach psychology for one year during the current postholder’s maternity leave. Psychology forms part of the Science Faculty and is an extremely popular option at KS5 where there are consistently two groups in both Year 12 and Year 13. The school has high expectations of achievement for all, and psychology has made a significant contribution to the success of our large Sixth Form. In 2024, 62% achieved A*-B at A-level, securing the subject an ALPS score of 3.
