Attendance Officer and Student Administrator for an Independent School
Annual Salary: £28,340

Job Type: Full-time, Fixed Term (1 year, term only)
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer and Student Administrator to join our dynamic team at a prestigious educational institution in Central London. This role is crucial in providing a warm and welcoming environment for our students, supporting their academic and social needs, and ensuring the smooth running of our school.
Key Responsibilities
Attendance
1. Ensure timely and accurate recording of student attendance in partnership with our attendance officer.
2. Follow up with any student not present in their lesson to ensure their whereabouts are known.
3. Register pupils on a reduced timetable and liaise with relevant staff concerning any issues.
4. Deputise for the attendance officer in their absence.
Student Reception
1. Greet and assist students warmly upon arrival, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
2. Manage student inquiries, providing information and guidance as needed.
3. Oversee student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
4. Manage lost property and confiscated mobile phones in accordance with school policies.
5. Administer the Yondr pouch system, including distribution of replacements and maintaining accurate records.
Student Records
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including personal and medical information.
Communication with Parents
1. Facilitate communication from staff to parents using SchoolPost.
Trips
1. Assist with the administration of school trips as needed.
General Administrative Duties
1. Provide assistance and cover for administrative colleagues in support of the Senior Management Team and Head’s Executive Assistant.
2. Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and equal opportunities policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
1. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
2. Strong attention to detail.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Experience in a school or educational setting is preferred.
7. A relevant qualification in business administration or secretarial studies is preferred.
8. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service would be desirable.
