Hours Of Work:
Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) with one hour's unpaid lunch break per day, with a need to be flexible.
Summary Of The Role:
As Location Transport Supervisor, you will assist the Operations Manager to manage the safe and cost-effective utilisation of all drivers and equipment within your location, ensuring that the customer service requirements are fully met and in line with the business objectives of Oxalis Logistics UK for the Bitumen, Gas and Emulsion clients.
Our ideal candidate will be able to perform well under pressure and have experience dealing with difficult situations where resolution has been required. You will be able to organise your own workload and set priorities and actions to reach objectives, being able to plan and optimise time efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for coaching, managing, and motivating the team in order to reach their full potential, ensuring KPI reports are collated, and wages and expenses are paid in full and on time. Safety is integral in this role and compliance is essential; therefore, you will be required to assist the Operations Transport Manager to complete duties in accordance with the Company Health and Safety policy.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
* Ensure legal and procedural compliance for Preston bitumen/gas operations.
* Ensure resource availability for Preston bitumen/gas operations.
* Ensure the company builds and maintains good relations with all local stakeholders.
* Proactively ensure that incidents are kept to a minimum, and that any incident is investigated thoroughly without prejudice.
* Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new and current employees.
* Assist in gathering KPI information and reporting to stakeholders.
* Driver management including wage and expenses enquiries, resource management, recruitment, uniform and PPE issue, and legal compliance.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Hold a full UK driving license.
* People management and communication skills.
* Be proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office - Outlook and Excel.
Desirable:
* Have an understanding of Drivers Hours Regulations.
* Understanding of O Licence process and regulations.
* Have experience working in the transport industry.
* Have experience working in a unionised environment.
