About The Role
Do you have experience working in Production Management? Have you worked in fresh produce before? Would you like to be a part of a successful organisation delivering fresh produce to a leading UK supermarket?
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to join our team!
Working Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for our VPMC (Vegetables, Pines, Melons, Courgettes) area, with two Shift Managers reporting into you to deliver the Production Plan and improve performance in your area.
You will have experience implementing LEAN manufacturing principles, and driving change and continuous improvement in a similar environment, and use this experience to champion a CI mindset throughout your department.
You will also:
1. Ensure that Health & Safety and Hygiene standards are implemented, adhered to and maintained within the Production Area and that all food safety regulations and standards are maintained throughout.
2. Manage all flow wrapping, netting, labelling and cutting activities on a daily and weekly basis to fulfil daily works orders accurately, consistently and to a high standard.
3. Ensure that all product giveaway and wastage is controlled and accurately reported.
4. Ensure that costs are managed tightly and that production data is recorded and monitored on a daily, weekly and annual basis in order to monitor performance weekly against agreed budgets.
5. Control and oversee the management of Packaging.
6. Control all repairs, maintenance and servicing of production equipment and site facilities.
7. With the support of the AMK HR team, take responsibility for managing, developing and motivating staff in the production teams; recruiting new people, managing holidays, absence management, identifying training and development needs to make sure that the production teams have the right skills, managing disciplinary and capability issues.
8. Ensure all technical and legislative requirements are fulfilled during the production process including traceability of product and packaging.
9. Create and maintain a good working relationship with other senior managers at AMK and ensure that quality, reliable and effective communication and service happen at all times.
