About the Role
The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) is looking for a skilled and proactive Press Officer to join our Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the Authority’s media presence, promote our key initiatives, and ensure clear, impactful messaging across multiple platforms.
As Press Officer, you will be responsible for managing media relations, crafting compelling press releases, responding to media inquiries, and ensuring that CPCA’s vision and policies are communicated effectively to the public.
Salary Starting From: £37,938
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Senior News and Media Officer to generate positive media coverage for the Mayor and the Combined Authority, enhancing their profile and influence across regional, trade, and national media.
2. Manage day-to-day proactive and reactive press activities aligned with the Combined Authority Corporate Strategy and Forward Plan.
3. Proactively identify media opportunities for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, working closely with the Senior Advisor to the Mayor and colleagues within Communications, Engagement, and Public Affairs to develop necessary briefing notes.
