Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (SEMH and Challenging Behaviour Support) Position: Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) Location: Knowsley Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Salary: £12- £15 As a Teaching Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH and challenging behaviour. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Providing Individual Support: Working closely with students to understand their unique needs and implementing tailored support strategies to help them succeed academically and socially. • Behaviour Management: Assisting in the development and implementation of behaviour management plans, promoting positive behaviour, and addressing behavioural issues in a constructive manner. • Collaborative Working: Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. • Academic Assistance: Supporting students in their academic activities, helping with classwork, homework, and other learning activities to ensure they stay engaged and motivated. • Emotional Support: Providing a listening ear and emotional support to students, helping them develop coping strategies and resilience. • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of students' progress and behaviour and providing feedback to teachers and parents as required. Requirements: • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable, but a strong passion for working with children and a willingness to learn are essential. • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour is highly preferred. • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. • Personal Attributes: Empathy, resilience, and a positive attitude towards challenges. • Team Teach qualification
