To provide holistic care with regard to all diagnostic and interventional interventions performed within the unit.
To assist in the management of patients undergoing cardiac investigations and procedures, ensuring that the highest standard of patient care is achieved.
Carry out nursing procedures and interventions as required, in accordance with Laboratory and Trust Policies.
Ensure that all relevant information regarding the patient is communicated to other disciplines as necessary and is correctly documented as per trust policy.
To provide a high standard of assessment, treatment, and evaluation of individuals with coronary heart disease.
To work as a key member within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
To work within the NMC Code of Professional Practice, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
To ensure that high standards of nursing care are given and maintained, and to act when standards are not being maintained.
To participate in the assessing, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized programs of care for patients undergoing acute and elective coronary diagnostic and percutaneous coronary interventional procedures and pacing procedures in the admission area, catheter laboratory, pacing suite, and recovery unit.
This Trust is committed to the continued development and improvement of cardiology services for the local population. Looking forward, we are in the initial planning stages to deliver a Primary PCI (angioplasty) service for the emergency treatment of patients presenting with an acute myocardial infarction.
