Role of an HCA

We are working with a vibrant & dynamic school that provides education, care, and medical support for children & young people with Physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist students with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and feeding.
* Provide support during educational activities, ensuring students are comfortable and engaged.
* Help with the use of mobility aids, hoisting, and transferring students as required.
* Assist nursing staff in monitoring students' medical needs, including administering medication when necessary.
* Build positive relationships with students, supporting their emotional well-being and social development.
* Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff, parents, and carers about the students' progress and well-being.
Requirements:
* Experience as a Health Care Assistant – Minimum 3 months plus experience
* A caring and empathetic nature, with a strong desire to support children with disabilities.
* Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.

* Moving and handling
* Domiciliary care
* Cough assist
* Deep suction trained
* Oxygen trained
* Meds trained
