About the role
You will lead and deliver complex procurements while managing a team of procurement professionals to deliver the councils procurements in a compliant manner and with a commercial approach to ensure key objectives and Council priorities are met. Working within the Supplies and Services categories means that no procurement or day is the same and requires you to liaise with all directorates and services within the council. A strong understanding if IT in public sector is important to support the Council’s Corporate Delivery Plan by enhancing digital transformation and resident experience. The procurement team are committed to a grow your own policy and you will contribute to this by managing and mentoring an apprentice as part of the team.
The Supplies and Services category team are one of the three category teams within Haringey's Strategic Procurement group, the others looking after the works and health and social care areas.
The Supplies and Service category team are led by the Head of Supply Chain to who the Procurement Manager reports and in turn a team comprising officers who work on procurements allocated based on the complexity and their specific category experience. A separate procurement team manages the Haringey DPS/DM/Frameworks and works closely with the category teams to ensure they meet the needs of Council.

About you
You will need a Full CIPS or other relevant professional qualification is essential as well as being a Government Commercial College Certified Practitioner or preferably an Advance Practitioner of the Procurement Act 2023.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of managing and delivering complex and high value Public Sector procurement tenders in accordance with the various statutory Procurement regimes. Able to effectively manage the entire procurement life cycle unsupervised and to have excellent working knowledge of the roles primary category related industry Regulations to facilitate best value in procurement projects
