We are seeking an English Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision setting in Thurrock, supporting students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated educator who thrives in a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment, helping students re-engage with learning and develop their literacy skills. The Role:
* Deliver engaging and accessible English lessons to KS3 & KS4 pupils.
* Differentiate teaching strategies to support students with SEMH, behavioural needs, and additional learning barriers.
* Inspire and motivate students who may have low confidence in their academic abilities.
* Implement creative and structured lesson plans to support GCSE and functional skills English.
* Work collaboratively with pastoral staff, SENCOs, and support teams to ensure each student receives tailored educational support.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience working with challenging behaviours, SEMH, or alternative provision settings.
* Passionate about inclusive education, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning needs.
* Confident in planning, delivering, and assessing GCSE and functional skills English.
