Job summary We are looking for an Associate Practitioner to join the Virology/Serology team at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust FT. This is a full-time role Monday to Friday 09:00 17:30 but may be a possibility of weekend working depending on the candidate. Main duties of the job The post holder will work as part of the laboratory team, providing a high level of microbiological analysis in order to provide patients with the highest level of diagnosis and treatment. The role will be mainly project based, running one automated analyser but there will be an expectation to support in virology if there is capacity to do so. Dealing with general laboratory enquiries. Process the clinical specimens (swabs/tissues/bodily fluids) received and to undertake the related tasks in the various sections of the laboratory, leading to the reporting and interpretation of results in accordance with agreed policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
