Role Responsibilities
The APS engineer role provides 1st Line and 2nd line support activities both remotely and onsite. Core day-to-day functions will be based in the London Heathrow office working on a regular shift-based pattern supporting APS customers globally.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
* Support APS customers for IT solutions on a 1st and 2nd line basis.
* Application and service restoration.
* Application support of material handling systems.
* Maintaining HLC environments such as Vibes, Vision, and Scada.
* Hardware maintenance of Servers (HP) & Network services.
* Support of server OS.
* Call Management & Administration.
* Project support and commissioning on UK sites (RMR).
* Service takeover of customers globally (Remotely)
* Onsite direct customer support in delivery of IT systems in the UK.
Role Qualification and Skills
* 3 years 2nd Line helpdesk experience.
* Willing to work shifts including Nights & Weekends – Essential.
* Helpdesk Experience – Essential.
* Knowledge of Monitoring environments – Essential.
* Holds a full UK driving license - Essential.
* HP Server Hardware support Qualified - Desirable.
* VMware Experience - Desirable.
* Knowledge of Oracle databases - Desirable.
* Knowledge of networking and switch configuration experience - Desirable.
* Linux & Windows server administration - Desirable.
* CNAP experience, Cloud Based Applications eg. Kubernetes – Desirable.
* ITIL qualification – Desirable.
* Must be proactive, focused on service improvements, and capable of taking the lead on own initiative.
* Ability to work under pressure on mission-critical systems.
* Strong customer focus.
* Team player, adaptable and willing to broaden skills outside core skill set.
* Ability to own tasks to completion.
* Flexibility in working hours to deliver changes and time-critical projects.
* Escalate issues appropriately to ensure resolution.
* Able and willing to work on customer sites across the UK as required.
