Summary
The Accountancy Apprentice will be based at the Swindon office. They will ensure all purchase ledger invoices and sales ledger invoices are posted to the appropriate ledger. Posting of purchase payments and cash receipts. Posting to General Ledger. General office administration.
Wage
£15,500 a year
£7.64- 7.99 per hour Salary £15,500 - £16,200 pro rata per annum dependent on qualifications/experience.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Registering and posting of supplier invoices to purchase ledger.
* Preparation and posting of supplier payment runs as agreed by Finance Director.
* Posting of sales invoices to sales ledger.
* Posting of customer payments to sales ledger.
* General Ledger Postings and Journals.
* Supplier Statement Reconciliation.
* Dealing with telephone enquiries from customers and suppliers.
* Cash collection and maintenance of dunning letters.
* Daily post – in and out.
* Filing.
* Processing of credit card payments via credit card terminal.
* Maintain customer and supplier basic account data.
* Any other duties as required by the Commercial Accountant/Management Accountant.

* Record transactional data.
* Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
* Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
* Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
* Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
* Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
* Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
* Record transactional data.

Your training plan
* On the job training in your day-day role.
* Taught sessions at New College Swindon in line with the Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 standard.
* 6hrs off the job per week.
* Exams for each unit.
* Any assessments or assignments set by tutors.
* End point assessment.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
* 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade A-C or 9-4)
Desirable qualifications
A Level in:
* AS/A level (grade pass/ A-C)
