To utilise a range of communication and management skills to instruct, inform and negotiate in order to carry out the management of the Sterile Services Department. This will include receiving & providing complex information to members of staff and service users. To be responsible for the Quality Management Systems of Sterile Services. To work with external auditors to ensure accreditation is maintained and that all current legislation and best practice recommendations are implemented To communicate effectively; verbally, in writing and where appropriate using electronic formats to other disciplines, departments, organisations and service users on service related issues. To take an active role in service meetings, providing technical information and advice. To maintain and develop effective communication systems within Sterile Services, ensuring all relevant information is disseminated to managers and staff. To communicate in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Deals with complex situations, taking responsibility for managing non-conformance issues with service users. To be actively responsible for own personal educational and experiential learning, keeping up to date with current and emerging professional and specialist practice, policies and legislation To maintain a professional development portfolio to provide evidence of the competencies necessary for professional registration To ensure development reviews are carried out for all staff within Sterile Services and that personal development plans are established in line with individual training needs and service objectives
