With a team of over 375 dedicated professionals, we bring both passion and expertise to every project. We are expanding and are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to support our Health and Safety operations across the group.
The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to relevant safety legislation. The Health and Safety Coordinator will work closely with management, staff, and external stakeholders to identify hazards, prevent accidents, and maintain a culture of safety within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the health and safety team in delivering effective safety functions
* Conduct audits, inspections and accident investigations producing detailed and accurate reports
* Develop and maintain safety documentation and training records
* Communicate safety policies and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
* Support in the delivery of safety inductions for Employees, Contractors and Site Visitors
* Keep up to date with HSE Legislation and maintain continuous professional development
* Involvement in all aspects of administration required within the Health and Safety function
* Provide statistical data for HSE Manager on a weekly/monthly basis
* Assist in the maintenance and development of the business Safety Management System
* Project work as required
* Communicate and promote a positive health and safety ethos and culture at all times
What are we looking for from the right Candidate:
* A genuine interest in the management of Health and Safety
* Previous experience of an operational Health and Safety role
* A working knowledge of Task based Operational Procedures and Risk Assessments
* A working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent
* Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
* IT literate, with the ability to use Microsoft Office Package
* Previous experience of an electronic safety management system
* Ability to observe and accurately record detailed and precise information
* Ability to work analytically and in a structured manner, both independently and as part of a disciplined Health and Safety Team
* Ability to work with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for organising personal workloads, setting personal goals and maintaining appropriate levels of quality
