We are seeking an experienced Governance Manager to play a crucial role in interpreting new risk directives and assessing their impact on the organization. This role sits at the intersection of risk management and governance, ensuring that the Board and senior stakeholders fully understand emerging regulatory requirements and their implications. Your focus will be on ensuring 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) risk frameworks have the right metrics, indicators, and data to determine compliance effectively. You will bridge the gap between risk analysis and decision-making, providing clear summaries and strategic insights to the Board. Key Responsibilities: Interpret new risk directives and assess their impact on the business from a risk (not BA) perspective. Ensure the Board and senior leadership understand the risks, compliance requirements, and strategic implications. Work closely with 1LoD teams to ensure they have the correct risk metrics and indicators to assess compliance effectively. Develop risk frameworks that align with new regulatory requirements and business needs. Identify and analyze missing risk data, ensuring a comprehensive view of risks across different divisions. Extract key risk themes from data and translate them into clear, actionable insights. Prepare executive summaries and board reports, ensuring key risk points are communicated concisely. Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including Harj, to present findings and help shape risk governance strategies. Ensure proper circulation and distribution of risk reports to relevant decision-makers. Drive stakeholder engagement, ensuring divisions take accountability for risk governance. Skills and Qualifications: Strong governance and risk expertise, with a focus on operational risk frameworks. Retail Banking experience Proven experience in interpreting and implementing new regulatory directives. Ability to distill complex risk data into clear insights for executive-level decision-making. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills —non-negotiable. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to chase missing data and drive accountability. Experience in 1st Line of Defense risk governance and ensuring compliance frameworks are effective. Analytical mindset—able to spot risk trends, assess impact, and recommend appropriate governance structures.
