Architectural Technician Job in Slough, Berkshire
We are currently working with an independent, forward-thinking, award-winning architectural practice that has an available. This role would see you working with one of the leading practices in the growing retirement living and care sectors.
Established for over 50 years, this award-winning architectural practice consists of 20 dedicated professionals. Due to their impressive track record and strong client relationships, they are currently seeking an enthusiastic Architectural Technician to join their team.

Role & Responsibilities
1. Provide technical guidance and support to clients
2. Develop project briefs and feasibility studies
3. Prepare and present design proposals
4. Use Revit on a daily basis
5. Evaluate environmental impact and sustainability
6. Manage or coordinate professionals working on a project
7. Obtain and evaluate tenders and contracts
8. Ensure compliance with design, legal, statutory, and professional requirements
9. Program work schedules and conduct inspections at various stages
10. Liaise with local planning, building control departments, other statutory bodies, and outside organizations
11. Attend regular meetings with clients, contractors, and other specialists, including engineers and surveyors, to ensure buildings meet necessary standards
12. Collaborate closely with construction specialists on-site
13. Obtain feedback from clients and building users, and report on contractor performance once the construction project is completed
14. Appraise the performance of buildings in use and produce maintenance management information
15. Work as part of a team on larger projects
16. Manage the work of junior technologists and technicians and contribute to the overall running of the business.
Required Skills & Experience
17. Qualified as an Architectural Technician
18. Ability to use Revit is essential
19. Freehand drawing ability would be beneficial
20. Good understanding of building technology
21. Experience in care or retirement living projects would be highly beneficial
22. Strong knowledge of UK building and CDM regulations
23. Care about the impact of designs on the end user
24. Due to site locations, you will need a valid UK driving licence.
