Hampshire County Council are currently recruiting for a Chef based in the Hampshire area for their care home near Waterlooville.
Your duties will include:
* Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals including Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
* Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, and Environmental Health, ensuring a safe environment.
* Ensure sufficient food stocks are ordered and received from approved suppliers and that stock rotation is taking place to maintain optimum freshness.
* Supervise and instruct catering staff in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures, providing help and guidance where appropriate.
* Responsible for all kitchen equipment, ensuring it is in full, safe working order, reporting any damage or faults to the Maintenance Person or Registered/Unit manager, and following up on any appropriate action.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Basic food hygiene certificate.
* Clear understanding of Health and Safety issues.
* Able to complete written records such as record books and accident/incident report sheets.
* Able to work as part of a team and use initiative to deal with problems practically and respond appropriately where additional help is required or in an emergency situation.
* Able to communicate clearly and appropriately with others.
