The company is currently working on the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C, worth over £2.8 billion.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team in the Pools, Tanks and Liners organisation.
About the Role
* Assist the Project Manager with planning and reporting requirements
* Manage and coordinate daily site activities for assigned work packages within a designated area
* Coordinate all interfaces and ensure construction activities are delivered safely and in accordance with client cost, time, quality and scope requirements
Main Responsibilities
* Review method statements and risk assessments to ensure implementation and compliance during production
* Create and review VTS, ensuring evidence and witness sign-off at every step
* Ensure accurate as-built surveys, correctly recorded and communicated
* Follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Request For Information (RFI) and Field Change Requests (FCR)
* Implement the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and achieve evidence and witness sign-off
* Coordinate quality records created by the Tier 2 in line with production and conduct reviews by BYLOR and NNB
* Support resolution of issues identified by BYLOR Surveillance team
* Perform quality control checks using internal check sheets where appropriate
* Achieve a culture of 'right first time'
* Maintain engineer's drawings and specifications for easy access
* If required, interpret and extract construction information from drawings and specifications for supervisors and operatives
* Coordinate temporary works identification and correct procedure application with the temporary works team
* Effectively communicate technical information to the workforce and liaise with all functions and support services
* Ensure daily site activities coordination/organisation with all parties (Services/Delivery/Subcontractor)
* Report daily site activities and difficulties encountered on site to the PM
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Intermediate knowledge of civil sequence of works
* Competent use of Microsoft office applications
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of £55,000-£65,000 per annum, private medical insurance, company pension schemes, annual holiday allowance, and a company car allowance.
This role is based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset, offering easy access to the M5 and proximity to Bristol and Exeter.
