We require a Manufacturing Engineer to join our busy team based in Abercynon, South Wales.
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems and processes for the introduction of new products or improving existing product systems and processes.
The role involves developing and maintaining robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures aligned with lean manufacturing practices, considering process and test capabilities, and recognizing organizational core competencies. Ensuring root cause and failure analysis is performed as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with design, production, supply chain, and quality departments to deliver projects on time and to high standards.
* Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing processes through project management.
* Lead the team in achieving operational KPIs and meeting budget requirements.
* Support the safe and effective use of personnel and equipment to meet production plans.
* Coordinate with the Planning department to meet capacity requirements using the TOC process.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
Core Requirements
* HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA influencing product definition and manufacturing.
* Experience with 3D CAD data manipulation and interpretation of 2D drawings.
* Understanding of design for assembly/manufacture methodology.
* Proven ability to implement lean improvements and adopt new technologies.
* Cost management skills aligned with budgets.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience with military and traction projects.
* Automation/robotics experience.
* CAD/CAM proficiency.
* Six Sigma Qualification.
* Experience in connector or harness manufacturing.
* Knowledge of customer industries.
