We are seeking an Accounts Administrator to join our Accounts team, based in Birmingham Business Park.
Key Responsibilities
1. Passing Purchase Invoice for payment.
2. Daily banking & logging of funds received and applying funds to relevant accounts.
3. Rejection of supplier invoices as required.
4. Preparing and paying purchase invoices on open accounts or BACS.
5. Raising auto cheques for CAD Payments etc.
6. Opening new suppliers and traders.
7. Maintaining all relevant and applicable sales & purchases ledgers & cash books.
8. Maintaining month-end sales, purchases, and cashbooks.
9. Maintaining high-risk schedule.
10. Transfer of funds between different divisions of the company and any related internal invoicing.
What we’re looking for
1. An understanding of freight forwarding/operations.
2. Cargowise experience preferred.
3. Experience in the adoption and practice of specific company financial policies and procedures.
4. Good problem-solving skills to enable prompt resolutions of queries or complaints.
5. Knowledge and utilization of ‘Companies House’ including downloading of accounts and credit facility checks i.e. ICC reports.
6. Experience of looking after company vehicles (vehicle tax, insurance, repairs, MOTs etc).
7. A clear understanding of making payments in different currencies including US Dollars/GB Pounds Sterling/Euros.
8. Good verbal and written communication, to provide a professional image to customers and suppliers.
9. The capacity to work in a high-pressure environment whilst remaining calm when under pressure.
10. The ability to interact with a global network of agents, suppliers, shipping lines, hauliers.
11. The skill to prioritize a large number of tasks to ensure accuracy, and deliver results with great attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.
12. A positive attitude and good problem-solving skills to apply lessons learned.
13. The drive to succeed and want to make a contribution to the business.
General Skills
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Excellent planning and attention to detail.
3. Ability to demonstrate a logical, structured, proactive, and objective approach.
4. Ability to analyze data and produce customs compliant documentation.
5. Adept with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.).
6. Knowledge of CW1 for brokerage purposes.
