Key Responsibilities
1. Report directly to the section Shop Floor Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production requirements are met safely, on time, and to customer specifications.
2. Follow work instructions, specifications, and part drawings accessed via PC.
3. Read and interpret engineering data, technical drawings, specifications, repair schemes, and Manufacturing Procedures (MPs).
4. Accurately complete work route cards to maintain component traceability.
5. Measure and mark out materials for close tolerance hand fitting processes.
6. Perform precision drilling, countersink, reaming, and finishing of holes in aircraft structure assemblies.
7. Apply assembly techniques including riveting, mechanical fasteners, and bonding processes.
8. Utilize sealing and jointing techniques for environmental protection and painting of aircraft structures.
9. Carry out bush and bearing installations.
10. Apply part markings on aircraft assemblies/sub-assemblies.
11. Assemble pipework for various types of aircraft.
12. Conduct alignment, pressure, electrical bonding, and functional testing as required.
Job Requirements
13. Prior experience in aircraft assembly or a similar field is preferred.
14. Strong attention to detail and ability to work to precise specifications.
15. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering data.
16. Familiarity with assembly techniques such as riveting, mechanical fastening, and bonding processes.
17. Understanding of sealing and jointing techniques for environmental protection and painting.
18. Knowledge of bush and bearing installations.
19. Experience in pipework assembly for aircraft is beneficial.
20. Ability to conduct alignment, pressure, electrical bonding, and functional testing is an advantage.
21. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
22. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and meeting deadlines.
