Quality Inspector, Fabrication, A&P Tyne Are you detail-orientated with welding and fabrication inspection experience? In this role you will ensure that we are consistently delivering work that meets our rigorous quality and customer standards as youll be working on projects of national importance on some of the most sophisticated vessels ever built, helping to secure the nations future defence. From A&P Tyne we are currently delivering units for the Future Submarine Programme and units for the new class of Royal Navy Frigates global combat vessels designed for anti-submarine warfare. And what will you do? You will be responsible for ensuring that the company meets and complies with all quality control aspects of welding and fabrication by carrying our inspections of work being carried out by A&P and our contractors. Youll supporting with the maintenance of the Company Welding and Fabrication Quality Management System procedures and manuals Working closely with the Fabrication Department youll be developing processes and procedures to ensure the quality control of all welding and fabrication operations within the facility Youll be carrying out non-destructive testing (magnetic particle and liquid penetrant) Assisting with the investigation and rectification of non-conformances, customer complaints and the defining of preventative actions And what are we looking for? You will ideally be a CSWIP Welding Inspector or (equivalent) with experience of fabrication inspection If you hold PCN certification in non-destructive testing (MPI, LPI) that would be great but training can be provided if needed Youll need strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in documentation With a proactive approach to quality issues, youll have excellent problem-solving skills To work collaboratively with cross-functional teams youll have well refined communication and interpersonal skills Why join us?
