We are recruiting for a Children's Community Nurse.
The successful applicant will join our team of Children's Nurses and Health Care Assistants who provide hands-on care and support to children with short-term illnesses, long-term disabilities, chronic health conditions, and end-of-life care.
We deliver care in a variety of settings such as homes, educational settings, and clinics. We are based in Capital House, Faversham, and the team works across four localities: Canterbury, Ashford, Thanet, and Folkestone/Dover. The successful applicant will be required to work across all of these to support the team.
You will be supported in the role with a robust training package and clinical supervision sessions to support professional development.
The East Kent Community Children’s Nursing Team is based in Capital House, Faversham, and also includes a small Children’s Asthma Team, Oncology Service, and Epilepsy Nurse Specialists.
As a Community Children’s Nurse, you would be providing care under the direction of the Team Leader and Community Nurse Specialists to children in various settings including their homes, educational establishments, and clinics throughout East Kent.
The Community Children’s Nurses provide a core service from 09:00 to 17:00, seven days a week, including bank holidays, plus early and late shifts assigned via a monthly roster. They also provide an on-call service out of working hours to deliver a 24-hour visiting service for end-of-life care to children and young people in their care.
