The role
As a Head of Service Operations, you’ll lead a team of IT professionals, producing both bespoke software applications and integrated Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products for a customer base of 10,000 users within an organisation that has a longevity of project work within the Defence and Civil Nuclear arenas.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide specialist knowledge management and technical expertise on a range of products, technologies and collaborative solutions that support both the internal and external, predominantly within the Defence and Civil Nuclear arenas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Shaping and guiding the service function within Digital Solutions, including Infrastructure, Service Desk, Change and Problem Management.
* Leadership and professional development of a team of circa 30.
* Accountability for service outputs, including KPI and SLA adherence.
* Managing budgets from across a number of contracts ensuring cost effective delivery.
* Integral member of the Senior Leadership team, representing all aspects of service delivery.
Essential Experience:
* Extensive experience in IT service management gained in organisations where IT is considered critical to success.
* Excellent leadership skills with experience of getting the best from people.
* Proven experience of working in secure environments with MOD experience - Desirable.
* Proven experience in running a service operation, scoping and designing service elements of IT solutions.
* Experience of running a service function to ISO27001, ISO20000 and ITIL standards.

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
