We are seeking an energetic and experienced Head of MFL to join an outstanding secondary school in King's Lynn. This permanent role offers a competitive salary, paid to scale, and provides the opportunity to lead a vibrant and dynamic Modern Foreign Languages department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the MFL department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality language education, and fostering a love for languages among students. You will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, supporting staff development, and driving academic excellence within the department.
Responsabilities as Head of MFL:
* Lead and manage the MFL department, including staff and resources.
* Plan and deliver high-quality language lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
* Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance language learning.
* Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Prepare and mark assignments, projects, and exams.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Organize and participate in language-related events and extracurricular activities.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to drive school-wide initiatives and improvements.
* Conduct regular departmental meetings and support professional development of MFL staff.
Requirements (Head of MFL):
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience teaching languages at the secondary school level.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Excellent understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching practices.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff with an energeticand a go-above-and-beyond attitude.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
