Commissioning Engineer / Control Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer required to join a global engineering manufacturer.
The successful candidate shall install, commission, and service high-pressure gas and hydrogen systems, perform testing and PLC programming, and conduct client-side Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) in various industries including renewables, defence, and oil & gas across Europe. This is a remote role, predominantly working at customer sites across Europe, therefore regular staying away is required.
The ideal candidate will have experience in commissioning technical engineering systems with proficiency in:

8. Process systems or similar within mechanical engineering

Responsibilities:
* Mechanical installation and commissioning of high-pressure engineering equipment.
* Perform thorough testing, PLC programming, and leak checks on hydrogen systems.
* Provide on-site servicing and repair of customer equipment, ensuring high-pressure gas systems are operational and meet client requirements.
* Identify and provide the customer with improvements, upgrades, or general aftercare of high-pressure gas and hydrogen products and services.
* Conduct client-side Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
* Install various natural gas and hydrogen systems into all forms of the manufacturing industry.
* Deliver training activities for customers on high-pressure equipment use and maintenance.
* Work out of the workshop near Sunderland when not visiting customer sites across Europe.
* Liaise with various engineering departments.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience as a Commissioning Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, Automation Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electronic Technician, Electronic Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical Service Technician, or similar with PLC programming knowledge.
* Proficiency in PLC programming, ideally with Siemens TIA Portal or similar.
* Experience working in hazardous areas and familiarity with safety protocols.
* Strong knowledge of high-pressure gas compression systems is advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings.
* Competent on various electronic Control Systems such as PLC controls, automation software, or similar related to high-pressure technical engineering systems.
* Willingness to travel extensively (60-70% of the time) within Europe and stay away for extended periods (separation allowance provided).
* Commutable to Sunderland when not travelling.
