Do you have what it takes to transform society?
We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services design team in Maidenhead or London. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary department providing detailed Building Services designs for building-related projects in the UK and overseas. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office/on-site and the option of adjusted start and finish times.
Sweco’s MEP consultancy and cross-sector building performance solutions represent a fusion of all our specialist services to optimise how a building ‘lives and breathes’ with a proud track record in life sciences, hotels, commercial, and healthcare space.
As market leaders in sustainable, high-quality building services design and engineering, we are also recognised for our trusted advice and technical acumen in carbon reduction and management, lifecycle analysis, and infrastructure planning.
Our work spans across adaptive reuse, interior fit-outs, decarbonisation strategy, and new build master planning with façade, fire engineering, and sustainability teams working cohesively to provide an all-encompassing proposition that allows clients in all sectors to achieve longevity, cost-efficiency, and reliability across the sites we plan and build for them.
What does the role involve?
* Undertaking outline and detailed designs and specifications for electrical works.
* Providing day-to-day technical input as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
* Ensuring design output is completed in accordance with the agreed scope of works, timescales, and budgets.
* Working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements and added value to the Client.
* Attending design and site meetings.
To be successful in this role you’ll possess:
* A degree in Building Services Engineering (or equivalent) and chartered status (or be working towards achieving chartered status) with a relevant professional institution.
* A good working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Clash Detection, and Amtech.
* Demonstrable experience in a similar role with strong project management skills.
* The ability to manage a variety of projects meeting varying deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills working alongside architects and contractors to consider problems and come up with innovative solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to your audience.
* Up-to-date knowledge of the UK construction market.
