Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work Full Time for Ascent Fostering Agency based in South London.
The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £51,500 per annum.
Main duties:
1. To manage a caseload of foster carers to meet the placement need and outcomes for children placed in their care.
2. To supervise foster carers, mentors, and/or social work assistants as required.
3. To undertake assessments of prospective and existing foster carers in order to determine their suitability for approval or continued approval as carers.
4. To accurately record and keep up-to-date information using the appropriate IT and Information systems, in accordance with the agency policy and procedures.
5. To undertake duty tasks as part of the Ascent Fostering rota as directed by the Managers.
6. To adhere to all relevant Policies & Procedures and fostering guidance.
7. Work in partnership with the managers and key professionals to ensure that foster carers and the “Looked After” children and young people placed with them receive tailored, personalised support that improves outcomes for them.
8. Foster carers prepare children and young people placed with them and work with birth families, where there is a plan for rehabilitation home with their families or carers.
9. Effective and constructive relationships with children, young people, their carers, and their families, and partner agencies are promoted.
10. Foster carer agreements, placement agreements, support plans, and Safe Care Policies are relevant, monitored, and reviewed. Risk is effectively assessed and managed, and appropriate plans for each child or young person are in place and reviewed according to their needs.
11. To attend and participate in recruitment campaigns for foster carers on a planned rota basis throughout the year on evenings and weekends.
12. To directly participate in the planning and delivery of training to prospective foster carers on a planned rota basis, evenings, and weekends.
13. To contribute to, and participate in the planning and delivery of support groups for a range of foster carers and alternatives.
14. Be responsible for the foster carer agreements, placement agreements, risk assessments, safe care agreements, and review of foster carers.
Requirements of this Supervising Social Worker role:
1. A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
3. Registered or eligible for registration.
4. Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
