Teaching Personnel work closely with a co-educational secondary school located in Chichester, West Sussex. With approximately 1,550 boys and girls aged between 11 and 18, the school provides a nurturing environment where students can flourish and build confidence. In December 2022, Ofsted rated the school as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, highlighting strengths in attainment, destinations, progress, and attendance, with inspectors also commenting that behaviour within the school is exemplary. The school has a long history of achieving high academic standards, pupils are engaged, and all cover staff are made to feel like part of the team and are warmly welcomed by the senior leadership team.
The school is looking to appoint a dynamic teacher of English to join their department as soon as possible, on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful educator will be joining a supportive department who are passionate and determined to deliver high standards to all learners. The appointed educator will cover English across KS3 and KS4 until at least Christmas, with the potential to become a longer-term role until February or April 2025. At this stage, planning and marking is not required; however, if the successful educator were to be appointed on a longer-term basis, this could become part of the role.
To succeed in this role, you will:
* Be an excellent classroom practitioner with an enjoyment of working with young people.
* Have effective classroom management and an ability to demonstrate resilience in working with challenging behaviour.
* Have effective time management; able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets.
* Be an excellent team player, genuinely committed to working in partnership with others.
* Be an excellent communicator to a variety of audiences with good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
* Be a reflective practitioner committed to developing own teaching and learning strategies.
If you are an ECT or more experienced teacher of English looking to motivate students and further your career, then we would like to hear from you.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
